keep in mind iv been using a sony mdr v150 for about 2 years now and I wanted a big step up to them

the HTx7's sound almost exactly like my sonys but with much better isolation

can someone recommend me some cans that I can say "wow" too for my ipod/iphone

no grados though they are too open for me

Depends what kind of music you enjoy most, and whether you want in-ear or not.

For <$150, other than the Grados which you stated you didn't want, I personally think the value of the sony MDR-V6 studios, the Etymotic ER6i (iem), or the AKG k240s can't be beat.

that's strange I tried the rp htx 7 and they are considerably less coulored and muddy than the sony v150.

after spending some more time comparing the 2 I can actually say the V150's sound better, the HTX7's highs and mids are terrible, but they have good bass




anyway I actually decided to go with the Grado SR80's
i will review them when i receive them next week
