I got a micro amp for Christmas. I am having fun with it. Up until today I was using it with my AKG k26p, my portable setup, while I was home for the holidays. I did not see a huge difference.

But today, I recieved my Beyer dt990s and the differnce is huge. I am sure that it is partly the new cans.

I also got the micro strap and a pocketdock. This is a nice little setup.

I keep hearing many around hear getting the micro dac also. I really do not listen through my computer, but if it is better quality then I might reconsider.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for the information in helping me make for desicion.

you didnt hear a difference with the micro amp?

not only is it a warm amp, the crossfeed really does something extra.

I cant believe you've found the micro amp and an headphone out sound the same?

Yes I am using the crossfeed. I do hear a differnce with that.

My ipod seemed to drive the k26p the same as the micro amp.

I also would say that my hearing is not supersonic.

also surprised at your reaction. the difference between my nano and senn hd595
and my nano/microamp/hd595 is staggering. it is to the point that i can no longer listen to the nano unamped.
