GOT IT! the Little-known Beyer DT150s.

AFAIK, the DT150 is considered to be better (more detail etc), but I haven't heard the DT250. In europe they also retail for close to the same price. A big differences is that the DT250 also has an 80 Ohm resistance version, while the DT150 only has 250 Ohm resistance. The biggest differences seems to be the neodymium magnet systems in the DT250. This is what the Beyer website says about the two phones:

I don't know where i read this on headfi, but someone said the 150 was the one to go for.

hmm. need to dig up old threads.

But i find it as enjoyable as my RS-1 and that's saying something!

Only 2nd hand. Someone in the german forum compared it briefly to the DT250 - killer isolation, but overall, the DT150 wasn't rated as high as the DT250'250.

I have this tank and will say this tank surely ugly & quietly heavy but have "something" to keep it stick in my mind when try it at Jaben.......... (not for DT770/Pro / 880/990) and then buy it few months later.....

have a nice detail sound and surprising wide soundstage

Edit: @malldian: have no noise leaking since this model have a good isolation

How about noise leaking?

I can describe the potentional noise leaking only of DT100s (anyway, heading towards DT150s - I hope this year), but being the same construction I can say they have almost no sound leaking, if any. Moreover, it is quite suitable to consider the fact that DT150s have thicker pads, so I would not be afraid about the potentional leaking.

I suppose, the fact if these cans are ugly or not is very subjective. As far as I know, many people find them (along with my DT100s) as being ugly, eventually ugly as hell. On the other hand, there are also freaks like me, who find them as almost prettiest cans.

I am quite curious if someone uses them from time to time as portable, like I use my DT100s.

BTW: Do you prefer stright cable or the coiled one for these cans?

Sorry for the lack of updates, but i've been really busy at work to do any constructive listening at home.

Been listening to it briefly and i can say the bass is seriously good ( but at times too overwhelming. ) It's has lots of depth, nice impact and is warm and ripe.

Also, the treble is amazingly detailed and light. LOTS of air. i mean, seriously, lots of it.

Something like aesthetics cannot be quantified i guess.

I for one find the DT150 & DT100 to be extremely good looking headphones. ( i detest the AKG701's Ipod white. )

They look like something darth vader would use! (darth beyers hurhurhur)

Hm. Been sort of considering selling my PL2500s because I don't use them a whole lot, and because I have K501s on the way in....might toss those up for sale and try the DT150s. They seem interesting.
