I'm pretty sure there's 32, 80, 250, and 600, and 600 costs a bit more than the others. Leastways that's how it was last time I was oogly over them on the Manufacture page.

I'm also curious as to what the differences are between the 2006 80ohm and older 80ohm... guess I'll get to searching.

Hi, a week ago I got myself a pair of these 770/80 as well. The sound is really great. Nevertheless, today I noticed, and I'm quite sure it wasn't there before, a slight but significant crackling, vibrating noise in the left ear, when a certain bass pops in. I can't really explain it better. Some songs by Underworld cause it, and also it is very significant in the first (seconds of the) song from Zero 7's album Simple Things (track name is "I have seen").

Now, I tried several amplifiers and cdplayers, all with the same result. So I blew in the earpad quite hard for some time, and it seems that the problem has gone away. I am afraid though that it will return.

Does anybody know what this can be, what causes it or whether I should exchange it for another pair (I'd rather not as I've bought it online).

Thanks in advance,

Anne

There's no 80 ohm version at Beyer or Meier Audio, but the 600 ohm version is more exp. by ~25 USD.

Congrats! Great cans, I love mine. They are just insanely fun to listen to. I sold my HD-595's because of the DT770.

I have the coiled cable though, and it's pretty annoying.

There is NOT an 80 Ohm 2006 version, at least not so far, and I believe that the existing 80 ohm version sounds better than either the 250 or 32 ohm 2006 versions, especially in the midrange, although I still think the 2006 versions are quite good.
