I listen to mp3s mostly..~192 rate

Is there anything that can drastically improve the quality of the mp3s in the $200 range? Is the upgrade worth it with the A500s and the KSC35s?

If you use std 44.1 kHz MP3s (CD rips) --> least get better card (Juli@, AP192).
