@Gilli87, Can you tell me easiest/fool proof method to root nexus 4. I am really confused how to root this phone. In my old galaxy S2 it was pretty straight forward using Odin method

Also I am really thinking whether I need to put custom kernel as I don't want to change anything in is bit this faux sound is really tempting

One thing I noticed is highs are bright and over bearing. Cannot listen to rock music. Ears are piercing. This is using my brainwavz m2 iem which is into darker side tonally. Don't know why?

I've noticed the same when using my UM3X RC with my Nexus 4. I guess you'll have to pry my iPod Touch(4th gen) from my cold, dead hands.

Weird...my N4 seems pretty balanced, slightly warm in tone. I have UM3X and used then every day with the N4 for quite a while, no such complaints.

A shot in the dark: what model number is yours? Where did you purchase it?

My model number is e960 (made in Korea)

I think it's something to do with kernel. I am running 4.2.2 with stock kernel. Because some people complain about volume but I don't gave any issue regarding volume. It's blasting with all my IEMs

Whoa! For those who are rooted, check out the franco kernel. Beats faux handily in terms of options and level of gain control. I can BLAST music now ^_^

I've been loving my nexus 4 since the release but the highs is sure piercing and you aren't able to crank up the volume to any desirable levels :/

Is this the kernel you were talking about:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367341

Should I leave everything on default?

Odd. Volume with stock kernel on mine was disappointing for sure.

Yes that's the one but you can also download his updater from the market which will do the whole install process for you. Are you rooted?

Does Franco kernel work with stock ui? I don't want to change look and feel of vanilla android os. Is it possible?

Also can you tell me if Franco kernel can be installed first time by just installing Franco kernel updater app? Or is it a complicated process?
