Hi. My brother wanted some new headphones because his old ones are breaking (his old one are cell-phone pack-ins).
I tried to convince him to get either regular over-the-head headphones or IEMs, since earbuds are a low-level product, but he said he wanted to consider better quality earbuds first. He made it clear that he didn't like IEMs at all.
I showed him some of the perennial favorites, and he really liked the Sennheiser PX100. He said he would get that if there were no other options. Of course, there are also plentiful threads accessible for the <$50 headphone range, so that should not be a problem.
I think I heard of a model called pk3, but I'm not sure how durable or good-sounding those are.
