Well depends how much noise cancellation u need. Are u willing to go with active noise cancellation ? It's very effective but it uses batteries and it's does add a little bit of noise that is audible in silent passages and when tracks change.

Prices might depend on where you're from. What sound are you looking for? Many suggest Audio Technica M50 for it's lows and highs; mids are not bad so I've read - but sound can be subjective, so it's good to get a demo first.

well i was just looking to see if there are any noise cancelling (active) headphones for the price that also sound good and could compete with the m50 or shure srh840

Have you tried active noice cancelling? It sounds like you are under water, but you can still hear the outside noise if you listen quietly. I'd recommend going for closed cap over ear headphones with v.good isolation.
