Good news on SACD/CD dual format

More info about the ABKCO releases contained in new Stereophile issue just received, page 39 under "Mikie" Fremer's analog corner section. Worldwide search was done to find best existing master tapes possible, final mastering is being done by "the man" Bob Ludwig!

Also check page 123, Mikie obtained ABKCO SACD/CD sample disc
for Rolling Stones releases, he also had clean vinyl copies to compare. Using the new Accuphase DP85 SACD player he was reviewing, he couldn't believe how good these SACD sound, he used the term "jaw-dropping" heh, heh.

As much money as Mikie has tied up in his record collection and record playback system, the SACD would have to smoke the vinyl for him to admit SACD was superior. He didn't go into great detail, but said he hears things on these new SACDs he has never heard on his UK Decca Stones records, and he was shocked how good these SACDs sounded.

He hedged his bets by saying he wanted to hear 180 gram vinyl transfers made from DSD master by Ludwig. Also remember the Accuphase DP85 is a 16.5K SACD player, although Mikie has far more invested in his record playback system.
