Good news for those ordering headphones overseas

I was going to order headphones from www.meier-audio.com which is located in Germany and did some research on what customs charges would be on entering the USA. Here is what I found on the US government customs website here. In particular on this page here it notes under the heading "Articles acquired abroad and mailed home" that "Mail-order goods fom overseas-those ordered from a catalogue or over the Internet, for example-will also pass duty-free if they are worth less than $200".

Another article of interest is the tarrif schedule for different good coming into the USA. The document can be found here. It's a large document at 70 pages, but of interest is page 25, under Heading/Subheading 8518 (you can also search for keyword "Headphones") it notes that there is no duty charged for Headphones as well as no limit to the quantity. However it notes that "Electric sound amplifier sets" will impose a tariff of 4.9%.
