So I bought a wolverine mvp... best mp3 I ever used... 20 days later, someone ran into me, and I flew down the stairs breaking it ...

Anyways... I only got 200$ I would like to carry my whole music library ( 142 gbs ) but not happening with 200$

Anyone know of a good .mp3 player than can play flac, can record, and sounds good? 8gb is the minimum

Zune is $150 on Amazon. I'm still waiting for some decent firmware to appear on this player before I buy it.

Decent firmware? How could you comment on the stability of the firmware if you do not even own one. Ive NEVER had my Zune crash, or had to reset it due to instabilities in the firmware.

I'm not commenting on the stability of the firmware, I'm commenting on the fact that Zune doesn't support gapless, drag and drop, Asian languages, FLAC, OGG, etc.

I don't know the reason why you'd want to carry all 142 Gb of music with you all the time. It's not like you'll be able to listen to it all in (doing calculations)... your lifetime?

If you can manage to get $50+, you could get an iPod Classic 80Gb.

I didn't see that. The only hack I knew of before required you to take the hard drive out of the player.

But I still don't understand why MS just doesn't release a firmware that supports these languages. There are a lot of people out there that have files tagged in an Asian language.

Anyone know if Rockbox (or any third party firmware) has made progress on the Zune yet?
