I'm selling my QC3 and I plan on buying a different headset. I learned about the Denon AH-NC732 and I was thinking of getting those. I will be using them mostly at work (I'm a software engineer) but home use and travel will also happen.

Do you have any other suggestions for a better headset? I was also considering the Sony MDR-V900HD (or something like that)...

THANKS!!!

Must you get an active noise cancelling headphone? They are never worth the money you pay for. Have you considered an IEM? They block noise better than active noise cancelling headphones and are more worth it. I recommend the Sleek SA6.

If you really must get an active noise cancelling headphone try the ATH-ANC7 or the PXC-300.

My suggestion fit your qualifications with aplomb.

That was the point of jbloudg20's post....it's impossible to make any meaningful recommendations if you don't give us your budget...

..and by headset you mean headphone right? I think headset normally refers to headphones with a mike attached like they use at call centers...

Sorry for being such a pedant!

Have you seen http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/hea...-guide-271258/?

At $350 you have a lot of choice. What kind of music do you listen to?

-I am looking for either Open or Closed headphones
-Noise Canceling would be nice but not a must
-Better then the QC3 (shouldn't be hard)
-Would be used with my computer and my 4308 and my treo
-Very sturdy (have gone through 3 TriPorts and one QC3 though Bose construction leaves much to be desired)
-I listen to everything (Rap, Jazz, Classical, Pop, Musicals, Alternative, etc)
-I love bass but do like naturally sounding music replication

I have considered:
-Denon AH-NC732
-Denon AH-D2000
-Sony MDR-V900HD
-Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 (Someone recommended)
-Fill in your thoughts here or comment about selection above

okay, well noise cancelling isn't very well regarded here (although I haven't heard a pair) because of its affect on sound quality...you should go for a closed phone with good isolation...I haven't heard any of the phones you listed but I can recommend the ultrasone hfi780 (although not everyone likes the sound signature)...

also, have you considered IEMs?
