I'm looking for a pair of good (as good as it gets under my demands) headphones for portable use only together with the SlimX.
I've read impressive stuff about the Sony MDR-CD580/780 together with portable devices, So I figured I'd go for them US65$/US98$ - seems reasonable.
My first requirement is the sensitivity, and ofcourse quality - but also closed would be nice.
Price: not above US150$
hehehe... any ideas? =) I live in Sweden

Grado SR60s or SR80s are both under $100 and are pretty easy to drive. Depending on what kind of music you listen to they might be perfect for ya. They might be hard to get in Sweden though. Maybe the Sony V6s?

Well, being that you live in Sweden, i suppose you can find the Beyerdynamic DT250-80's without much effort. I haven't heard them myself but they do come highly recommended. I was going to recommended the Sony V6's, but they might be very expensive and not worth the added markup (they run for $60 US).

grados are very expensive in most of Europe, so I'd avoid those due to the cost. My advice would be to look for a good deal on the Beyerdynamic DT250-80.

second the beyers. Grado will run you and arm and a leg in Europe.

That's why I got my senn hd580s on a trip to Europe, and brought em back. $120.

MTRH,

Beyer 250-80 highly recommended. Can be powered by a portable, but an amp brings them to another level. Great isolation comfort (velour pads), and construction. The bass is tight and controlled, not as deep as the Sony V6 nor as boomy IMHO. Prices are probably less in Europe than in the U.S.
