Does anyone here know of a good place on the net to buy crossovers. I have a friend that is building a pair of speakers and he needs a pair of 3-way crossovers. He was going to buy them from Radio Shack but I told him to wait and I would find him some, also he is on a tight budget as well.

I like Madisound. They will build to match the particular drivers being used. He can also take the complete DIY approach. There is software and books out there to guide him. The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook is a good start. Do the numbers, buy the parts, solder them up, and glue them to the inside of the cabinet. Piece of cake!

I don't recommend pre-fab crossovers. The chances of them matching the specific driver parameters is about zero. If that is the only choice, I would go with Parts Express or Madisound.

Good hunting

And their new URL is here:

http://www.partsconnexion.com

It is my understanding that this is somehow related to the old Parts Express site, which is now defunct.
