KSC75 and do the kramer mods. Very portable (cords do tangle though) and sound great unamped out of my ipod. Save the remaining 80 for an amp or better home headphones.

I've got an amp... I'd like to stay away from the Grado's and Allessandro's only because I find them big and unappropriate for being mobile...

anyone got a link to where I can find some KCS75?

Audio-Technica ATH-A500 - $100 - Very balanced, full sound. No obvious blatants or downsides. Perfect if you want isolation. Not portable. Super comfortable.
KSC-76 - $20 - Want something cheap but sounds great?
PX100 - $50 - Balanced sound. Not the richest of headphones, but portable.
Alessandro MS-1 - $100 - Perfect for rock and anything that needs that extra punch and attack.
Sony XD400 - $80? - Good for the price. Better for techno and related types of music.
Grado SR-60 - $60 same as the Alessandro but less balanced.

I would not consider AKG's in this pricerange. The Sennheiser HD280 is too flat and uninvolving. The HD25SP is not good for the price. The Sony V6 is rather harsh sounding though people who listen to pop and techno might like it.
