Hi,

Lookin for cans for less than $100..

I know Senn's got a lot and I've been lookin at the PX100's for quite some time. I'm just wondering if there are some other ones that I should be lookin at. I don't want full sized cans as I'd like them to be a little more portable. They don't need to be noise cancelling or anything fancy. Just a good pair o' cans for me to use with my various devices (including a portable amp).

Thanks!

Alessandro MS-1 just scrapes in there if you exclude any potential taxes and P+P

I would also say the MS-1's, but they are more of a full size type can. The PX100 is nice, if you like a warm sound, but if you like to tap your toes to the music, then the Koss potables are your ticket!

Wow, there are so many for you to consider. AKG K 81 DJ's, Senn HD 25 SP's, Senn PX100, Alessandro MS-1's, Koss Portapros, Koss KSC75's. These are all good cans ranging from 20USD-100USD. It really depends on what kind of sound you like, what kind of music you listen to, whether you want sound to leak, etc.

K141S maybe? Not extremely small but not that huge either, supraaural. Something no bigger than a K81DJ might be better suited for portable use though...

Thanks for all the quick replies...

I did have a pair of Grado SR325i's, the sound was just a tad bright for me so I ended up selling them to toastmaster.

I'm liking the Senn PX100 more and more, but will probably pick up the Koss KSC75 for a backup pair (there was a thread floating around here for a head-fi limited edition one).

I'm wondering if the HD280s and that line would be worth considering?

But hard to find, sadly.

Grado SR60 is another great choice. I had a chance to compare my portaPro to a PX100 and I didn't like the PX100 as much. It was the old style one, and it was well burnt in. I'm not a huge fan of the Sennheiser sound I guess.
