Im looking for some cans for use with my Discman. They must be closed cans as i want to muffle any background noise. Im currently useing Koss UR-20's and would like something with better sound quality if possible. I mostly listen to rock music, if that helps any, Price limit $100 USD. Thanks guys.

going to throw a curve ball here

shure e2, in-ear type, better sound insulation than normal closed cans

ok i looked at some posts and think the sony V6's will serve my purpose fine, i have one question, how durable are they? My koss Ur-20's have taken an amazing amount of abuse over the last 4 years and still work fine, they have been dropped multiple times onto concrete, used in the rain/snow. dragged around by the cord. Will the sonys take the same abuse and still function? Thanks guys, and where is a good place to buy them?

They are without a doubt the most durable headphones i have ever owned. They are made of metal with very little plastic. They feel very solid. The coiled cord is also great for making them more portable.
