I've just bought a used version 2 X-CAN headphone amp at a cheap price, but I don't own any decent headphones for it at the moment.

The Senheisser HD600s it's partnered with for reviews with look nice (I used to own the HD555s) but I don't want to spend much... I have been looking at Goldring's DR-150 which look to be a reputable alternative for far less £££.

What do you guys recommend?

Bit of my budget to be honest, I considered getting another set of HD555s, but it looks like the Goldrings offer more VFM. I spent less than 50 bucks on the amp so was looking to spend 60-75 tops on some cans. I don't want to overspend since i've always preferred speakers personally, but I think the X-CAN might change my mind on that

While the Goldrings are OK, the Sennheisers would be better. (Either imo) I've just started to use a V8 and it is superb with both the HD600 and the HD650. It is also extremely good with the Beyer DT770 and the DT150's.

The Goldrings are fine for the money but you'd get a far superior sound by waiting or looking for second hand HD600.

With headphones though, this could be the start of you chasing your own tail.

Personally I prefer the DR150 over the HD580/600. However I am one of the few who does not care for the HD580/600 sound. There is a partial mod to the DR150 to improve their airiness, you remove a piece of plastic which is attached w/ tape inside the enclosure. PM me for the information.
