Good Bluetooth/computer speakers under $100?

I'd like to get my buddy some speakers for his office.

A few weeks ago, my buddy told me that he just became a dental director for a non-profit in Sacramento.
His one wish is that he can have some good background music when he's doing admin work.
He specifically requested a bluetooth speaker of some sort.

What would you guys recommend?

I don't have a ton of cash, but I'd like to get him something nice.
I'd also like it to sound good, function well, and be fairly tough.

While I don't have a ton of experience with bluetooth speakers, I had a UE roll and thought it was pretty nice.

<edit> If the thing is really much nicer, I'm willing to stretch my budget to $200.

If he can set them apart for real stereo imaging, look into these:

How do you think those M24 speakers will compare to the lgk 1.0?

I haven't opened the overnight sensation kit yet, so I can still return it.
While I'm cheap, I've found that being too cheap results in false economy.

It's hard to say. TBH, there are probably very few who've heard both. The first batch of Peachtree M24 is just due to ship out this month, while the LGKs have been out for several years. If i were a betting man, I think I'd put money on the LGKs edging them out strictly on sound quality.

But, with that said, remember that the LGKs ($247 for the kit with enclosure) are just passive speakers. Once you add a decent bluetooth capable integrated amp and pay for shipping of it all, plus paint or veneer and other miscellaneous supplies that always seem to be needed...you're going to be way over budget.

On the other hand, the Peachtree M24s are powered speakers that have RCA inputs, an integrated DAC (with USB or Optical input), phono stage, subwoofer out, tone controls, bluetooth capability, and a full-featured remote. And Peachtree is certainly known for making some great stuff.

So if you can stretch your budget to $220 and wait till March-ish to get them, I'd recommend the M24 for your situation.

Have you already bought a bluetooth capable amp to pair with the Overnight Sensations?
