I am going to New Jersey, New York and Atlantic city for my 21st, this is my first time going. I am staying at my friends parents place in the New Jersey for 5 days and am wondering what I should check out.

nothing really exciting going on in NJ, so your safest bet would be to visit NYC. theres a few NY head-fiers around, so you can always knock on their doors
