Going to Budapest next year and wonder if someone can advise me some nice places to have diner or lunch or what ever. Also interested in some tips about the city, museums, shops etc. What is must to see or to do up there.
Unfortunately, none of my dining experiences in Budapest while on a choir tour in college were favorable. The best thing that happened in that city is going to a Turkish Bath-house.
Lots of fun places and plenty of decent eats. I'll post more when I have a sec, but was in Prague and Budapest one year ago for Christmas/Birthday. When are you going?
I haven't been to Budapest in a couple of years, but the major sites are:
-Gellert Hill to get nice views of the city/river
-Parliament
-Buda Castle
-Gellert Baths
-Chain Bridge at night
-the Great Synagogue
-Heroes Square
-Margaret Island
Everything is pretty central, and the public transporation is fine.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of stuff...perhaps take a look at Hungarian tourist sites???
EDIT: just remembered Vaci Utca for (tourist) shopping.
9 of May we will be landing in Budapest, so I do hope for a good and sunny wether
We have been in Prague, simply beutifull city and the best beer in the world

Down by the Danube is a restaurant called Mene Sarda (sp?) Their logo if you will is a saddle. Great food prepared at your table, great service and the help speaks english. Very friendly. I would recommend the Austrian beer too.
Cool, we have the first place and name of it, thanks. What kind of food, local?
