This thing looks and sounds absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I am listening to Alice in Chains - MTV unplugged right now and it sounds wonderful. All the instuments sound incredibly realistic. The soundstaging is also wonderful. I can pick out where every performer is on the stage and it almost sounds like I could reach out and touch them. I have never heard this album sound so good. Come to think of it I don't think I've heard anything ever sound this good, well except of course the uber expensive speaker setup at Let there be sound that I got to hear before the south florida meet. Thanks again Todd!

It doesn't have to cost $75. FedEx ground now has a guarantee, that they will ship anywhere in the US for a maximum of 3 days. Most places is 1 day. It cost me $25 to send my 35lb SinglePower Maestro from NY to Texas in 2 days, insured for full value. Certainly the cost of 5 Heineken's is worth a chance to hear one of the worlds best CD players, with an option to buy.

Sure, FedEx will deliver Ground shipments in less than 3 days, provided you are within the region of that, but according to FedEx Ground, they ship between 1-5 Days. FedEx has already had a service called Express Saver, which is a 3 Day service, but it cost significantly more than Ground.

And don't forget the multi thousand$ insurance as well.

No, FedEx has changed their policy and will ship anywhere in the US in 1-5 days (most places, less than 3). And as far as insurance goes, you have a declared values that you do not pay for as far as a dollar amount is concerned, unlike the PO which charges up the gazoo for insurance. I have shipped everything I sell via FedEx Ground and it is fast and cheap and reliable.

As I said, they do not have a guarantee to ship within a maximum of 3 days. They, like UPS have shipping regions, where some places will receive items faster if they are closer. So naturally, if you ship something to a place that is just in the next town, of course it will get there in one day.

FedEx has not changed their ground shipment speed. But I do agree that they are quite reliable, as far as package handling is concerned. But in my experience, their shipment time has not been any faster. A package I shipped recently to Florida took 5 business days, not 3.

I shipped Agile_One 2 Bryston amps that were 35 lbs. each and it took 3 days. I shipped another Head-Fier my Maestro, and it cost $20 and it took 2 days. I don't mean to be arguementative, but I am saying that it won't cost $75, and it shouldn't take more than 3 days avarage.
This opens opportunities for people who normally could never play with a Meridian.
Thanks Todd

The deal is that it will be shipped AIR. Ground beats the crap out of it. I just don't want it to be beat up a number of times. I would like it to return to me in a recognizeable, working condition... and with an intact shipping box. Three day air works very well and the packages are handled much better.

Wow. That's very cool of you, Todd.

I came in here looking for advice on how to get my feet wet in vinyl, but I can't say I'm not intrigued to hear how badly this would spank my Rotel RCD-991AE.

Nah...TT setup first! Priorities!

Todd, I would like the opportunity to check this unit out, if you could put me on the list please. If you are doing this on a regional basis, I live 20 minutes from Gpalmer, and would be happy to pick it up directly.

How much is the shipping to send it off to the next person?

If its under 30$ I would like to be added to the list as well.

Don't want to speak for Todd but I spoke with him on an unrelated matter on Thursday and he told me Todd R had the unit and that it was headed west next (JJ Capurro and I are both in Reno and Todd was asking if it mattered to whom it was shipped-so I assume it's coming to us next or soon.)
