hey. I have a Go-Vibe v4 w/ stock OP285GS opamp in it right now.

I go x-fi->govibe->dt770-250 currently and enjoy the sound.

I'm not sure what it is; but the 770's low end doesnt seem quite as prominant as reviews/etc lead me to believe. They were purchased for gaming, and the sound stage is an amazing upgrade from my previous (Senn hd212 Pros, another basshead) and show a huge increase of detail on my Flac recordings and in games, but the low end seems a bit... um.. Resessed? in comparison to the dirtier bass of my Senns.

As I have the 250ohm 770s (supposdd wider sound stage and unavailability of 770-80 being reason), I'm thinking my v4 could benefit from the extra power of the AD8397 might bring it out a bit more? I also don't know where to purchase the new opamp for testing or would just to test possibly...

Needs to be soldered to the PCB according to Norm. So it isn't a op-rolling possibility. You have to know you want one and lock that choice in. That being said there's a LOT of other possibilites for your V4. Like OPA2227 , AD8066 , AD8620 and there were a couple of others too, those are just some of the more popular.

I wasn't impressed with my Go-Vibe 3 (w/8620) and the DT770-250. I felt the same as Worminator and am hoping my HeadRoom Micro w/desktop module will take me to the next level with the DT770-250's. I should add that my Go-Vibe 3 has a gain of 2, since I was using them with my UE sf5p's... so I wonder if that's a factor here.
