It's not really an Ebonics translator. It's just a Snoop Dogg lingo imitator that's been rebranded. Many of the affectations are very Snoop specific. Just clarifying things in case anyone cares. There are a few sites that purport to do "real" ebonics translation, but they're all pretty poor. You need to do sentence structure analysis in order to do realistic translations (see the Wikipedia article) and none of these software programs even make an attempt. Not that I'm commenting on the merit or validity or anything of Ebonics. But if you ever get a chance to take a Linguistics class in university, jump at the chance. It's really interesting, one of the few areas that Science and Engineering minded people can really get into along with more Humanities minded people.

lol, man just translated some stuff on head-fi. Here is one random thread.

Been lurking a while and have a couple questions of my own now. I recently broke my pair of CX300's and am in the market for a new pair now. I do like the Senns, but I kind of want to try something different now, but still not too expensive(under $100).

So the short list I've looked at are the er6/er6i, super.fi 3, jbl 220, um1, and vmoda vibe. I will admit I haven't read a lot about the um1. It seems whenever it's mentioned, the um2 comes up and there isn't much else said about the 1. I definitely don't have the funds for the um2 though. From what I've put together it seems like I'm leaning towards the jbl's followed by er6, super.fi 3, and vibe. I'd really like to hear how the um1 stacks up to this list of phones though. I listen to mainly rock/punk and some rap and acoustical mixed in every now and then. I'm not a big basshead but I do like to hear it when it's supposed to be there and that's pushed me away from the er6's based on what I've read about their lack of bass. The vibes have the cleanest look and presentation in my opinion and I really wanted them to be the ones but it sounds like there's not enough isolation going on there and there may be too much chord noise.
These will be mainly used with a Cowon X5l whenever I'm out and in a situation I can listen to music and when I travel.

I'm also in the market for a pair of phones to use when I work out. I'm thinking about the marshmallows especially since they're $9 now, but I've wondered about the Koss KSC75 and if that's comfortable to wear in a workout environment.

I appreciate any insight. Thanks.
