So my friend came to me looking for a suggestion for well isolating headphones in the $50 to $150 range. The reason behind this is that his horrible horrible siser sings very poorly (and very often) and his computer is located in the den of his house. He currently owns a pair of SR-60s but he can't really enjoy them so much do to the open nature of the headphones.

He already specified that he is not interested in IEMs for a desktop system.

I've basically said:
ATH-A700
DT-770
RP-21
Bose Triports (lol)
D1000

Anything else I forgot to recommend?

some people here also recommend:

ES7
K81DJ
even perhaps HD25-1 if lucky

i'd back up the HD25-1's suggestion if you can hunt around and find a pair. maybe get on ebay and start bidding. I love the fact that EVERYTHING is replaceable with the HD25-1's

how shameless of you to bump your own thread! lol

Hey, somebody's gotta.
Anywho... HD-25-1's I'd probably have to buy used. But I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the isolation of the a700's (which is what I'm leaning towards).
