I saw Girl Talk last night at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, and it was undoubtedly the most intense show I have ever been to. So crazy. First there were almost four hours of opening acts, and then when Gillis finally went on stage everyone got up there with him, his table broke, it was insane.
Then after about twenty minutes someone messed up his power cord, and while he was off trying to find another maybe a fourth to a third of the crowd left. This was really nice since during the second set the venue was not as hyper-crowded and super hot.
One question for other people who have seen him live... Gillis was talking about how Cleveland is his favorite place to perform by far. This would kind of make sense since he did go to school at Case Western Reserve, but does he say this at every concert?
Show highlight was probably the Juicy over Tiny Dancer part from Smash Your Head. So amazing.
He has a few more shows listed on the myspace, so if Girl Talk is coming to anywhere near you definitely check it out.
