Weighing up my options here. Want to get a Gilmore Lite, but the power supply issue is causing a headache. I don't want to spend the $500 on the dedicated PSU combo, cos I'm cheap, so I'm looking at the wall adaptors. Problem is I have 230V and the GL's Elpac is 115V only.

Justin at HeadAmp told me that he can supply the GL with a 230V supply for an extra $50 over and above the price which otherwise includes the 115V Elpac, making a total of $350 for the GL with power adaptor.

This seems a waste of $50. Any alternative?

My other option is to order the GL with the 115V Elpac and use a 230V step down transformer, which I can buy for about the cost of the extra $50 - probably a preferable option as the flexibility will present better resale options. But I'd rather not spend an extra $50 at all.

Comments?

Monkey,

One is a mini-DIN, the other is a regular DIN. I would love to be able to offer a 230V adapter for the same cost. But it isn't available and I was quoted a minimum order of 500 units and $15,000 for UL testing. The option I have available is by far the best solution right now.
