When I got my Transit I just installed it and then added it to Foobar as an ASIO Virtual Device.

What should I set the "Operation Mode" and Latency to?

Is "bit perfect" hard to set up?

Anything else I can do to improve the (already superb) sound?

Any advice is appreciated.

I have mine set to "2 in, 2 out, 24-bit, 8000 Hz to 48000 Hz." You could set it higher, and I have heard that recommended, but I can't hear any improvement when re-sampling to 96khz. I have my latency set to very high, since on the default setting I had clipping when playing wma files (still trying to figure that out). Honestly, though, the best thing you can do for the transit is amp it. I really like the transit as a cheap DAC - the AKM DAC inside sounds nice. However, it's line out is really incapable of driving headphones, IMO. It sounds thin and hollow, and the bass has no impact. Even my PA2V2 makes a huge improvement. Night and day with an amp.
