My experiences with these two earphones is a bit frustrating. I am looking for an earphone that isolates, especially in an airplane and that draws me into the music. Each of the units have significant strenghs, but neither does everything that I want. I can use your help.

I do like the sound of the etys a little more than the shures, but I find the etys uncomfortable no matter what. On the other hand, the shures are very comfortable for me, do have a pretty good sound, but lacks detail for me and while it seems that I get a good seal (the shures offer resistance when I take them out), the isolation for me is not that great.

It may well be that I am not getting a good seal with the shure's. Any tricks about which tip whether a bigger tip would improve the seal more than a deeper insertion?

Also, has anybody used the Shure tips with the etys? I would give it a try, but I lost the etys a few weeks ago. Sigh.....
