I have recently become addicted to these forums and have been trying to purchase Grado sr 60/80/125/125, Senn hd 555/595, Audiotechnica A500/900 for a low price. So far no luck. But I was wondering if you think I should get the lower end in these lines and find out which flavor I like or just take the hit to the wallet and get the higher end model of these phones. I just started building a cheap cMoy amp so I will have something to power them.

I have sennheiser hd212pros which are wonderful compared to run of the mill sony's that you get with a portable cd player and now I want to upgrade.

Suggestions? I am willing to spend 175 but of course would rather pay less.

I read one of your previous posts which stated that you have somewhat eclectic muscal tastes. You might want to look into the Beyerdynamic DT440. The Audio-Technicas would probably be a good option as well.
