If you have some amp/dac gear thats 5-6+ years old & something needs repairing inside, do you usually ask the manufacture to repair?
 
What manufactures from your experience do & do not offer this kind of service?
 
This isn't like a generic LCD screen, There are a handful of reasons to keep older gear, rather than just buy another new product.

It often depends on the company. Sony for example will ditch a product only a couple of years into its life span, they discontinu and label it 'not supported' . A smaller company may well service one of thier old products years on. So the answer is' it depends'
