I'd like to try out some tubes and it seems quite a few are vintage c.1970s so I'd imagine they're delicate.  Do you guys recommend tube savers?  I picked up a Schiit Lyr and the deep socket placement has be worried they will be a pain to get out without a lot of wiggling.  Tube savers would raise them out of the openings making them easier to grab as well.  Can't believe I'm getting into tubes, I remember playing with the tube checking machine at the grocery store as a kid!

I have used valve amps for 30 years and have never head of a valve or tube saver, what is it?
I have lots of 50s and 60s valves, they are surprisingly robust.
It's the new ones that break easily.
