I've been having fun, piecing together what is going to be my reference home rig, but I've been thinking a nice, affordable general purpose solution could me satiated for the time being.
For about $800, I'd like to build something that is all around good, and can be used in various circumstances.
I've considered something like the Headamp Pico Amp/DAC with something like a NAD VISO HP50 for a nice compact and portable solution. Only complaint is that it doesn't have an optical input, which would be ideal.
I'm also considering something like the CEntrance HiFi M8, but that doesn't leave me with much room to experiment with new cans.
Also considered an easily moveable but not portable solution like the Schiit Asgard/Bifrost stack.
I also just considered getting some CIEMs and forgetting about the Amp and DAC.
Anyways, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.
