Hey Folks, I just finished building my gamma1 dac and I, dont know why, and don't really know how, forgot to buy a psu for the dac. So I just plugged it into my usb and it works great. And now I have one of those Apple power blocks and it looks like its a regulated power supply with 5v and 1A outputs. Has anyone tried if this would work as a psu (using the usb input) and be able to use the COAX/spdif inputs with the DAC?

*** Screw it I grew some balls and tried it, it works so I guess no need for me to get a separate psu***

The gamma-1 site explains that a regulated ps will probably sound better....

Checked the gamma-1 site (From amb) and I couldnt find any info regarding the differences between using a regulated psu versus powering it using the usb input. Plus the psu I'm using through the usb is a regulated power supply Its one of those PSU's that charge ipods (the old brick looking oneS).
