looking for good phones for gaming and music , want your suggestion.

i play counter strike mainly and attend lans often too.
i am stuck b/w open and closed phones , in game i dont want to be distrubed by background noises where i could concentratre on game.
but again i have heard open cans have greater soundstage then closed ones.

like audiotechnica ad700 > a700/500 closed ones.

i have narrowed down to these choices btw and are withing my budget.

Denon AH-D1001
audio technica A500/700 or ad700/500
seinhessier 555
akg 240/s

are there any good cans i am missing please mention negative and positives and your experience.

THanks

Also consider the RP-21 and Q40.

Honestly, soundstage is overrated for gaming. I find that as long as it tells me the general direction of the sound, it's as good as any other phone for positional. My AD700's were the same as my SB45's for gaming. I think my D2000's and HFI-780's were better than the AD700's for positional, too.

The main things I'd look for are comfort, and bass so you can feel the explosions

For this reason, I'd go for the RP-21s. I don't know about the D1001 or Q40, though. The S2 audio guy seems to like the Q40s.

I would also look at the DT 880 (open) and the DT 770 (closed)
