I'd like a nice, neutral signature for positional audio but at the same time, I don't want the sound to be TOO neutral so I can enjoy my explosions. Any recommendations on whether or not these cans will get the job done, or should I keep using my AD900x's?

I doubt switching from the AD900X, to the headphones you have listed, will offer any real improvement in FPS gaming.

Thanks. I was looking into getting a DAC/Amp combo and going "all-in" with the DT990's because I heard they had better bass with a passable soundstage when amped properly.

The Dt990 have a very strong bass/treble, which slightly overshadows the mids, but the mids are clear.
I prefer the audio from my Audio Technica ATH-A900X, over my DT880/DT990.
