Hey everyone. I had my heart set on the Superlux headphones but the HD 518s are on sale new on ebay for $60 or so. I'm wondering if they are better than the Superlux for gaming and music listening.

I'm going to guess at $60, the HD518 are worth it.
Also the HD518 will hold a higher resale value.

The Superlux is a great bargain in an entry level headphone.  See:

I have never heard that sub $60 is bad for gaming. I understand I could spend a lot more but you're saying there's no good headphones in that category?

To my ears it's very difficult to find a decent headphone at that price--for gaming or music, absent a closeout sale (which you got).
 
Gaming cans require a large sound stage with accurate placement of sounds.  That is not a $60 product.
