You are in luck, one of the recommended headphones is closed. Check out the Senn HD201. Now where have I heard that one?

Actually the Sennheiser HD212's are closed aren't they? The only concern i have about them is that they were release almost 3 years ago, do they still stand up against the new released headphones in the market?

Now you are beginning to talk details. Anything more than a simple recommendation becomes personal and individualist in nature. I don't know if the drivers for headphones change that much over time. I would not think they do. If you look at the Koss line from my prespective their drivers look very much alike over a range of their headphones. So who has compared the drivers in the Sennheiser phones?

212 (Pros, right?) have huge bass (good for gaming :p), but they are supra-aural -> they are not as comfy as HD201s.

Well the price of the Sennheiser HD 212's and pro's are the same price, so it would be better to get the price? So would you say these are the best headphones available in my budget?

Also are they better than the Sennheiser EH 150's?

212 Pros have ssso much bassss that unless youre a hardcore basshead you wont like them for music.

eH150s? According to HeadRoom, the eH's frequency response is quite a rollercoaster

The 212's response for comparison

Headphone technology doesn't work the way computer tech does... a 3 year old headphone can still sound way better than newer designs. The R10 is nearly 20 years old now? It still sounds better than nearly all headphones today.

485'd be great. They arent completely closed though, only semi-closed IIRC.
