Hi!

I'd like to get a new soundcard. I'm looking for good quality and 5.1 gaming. If I got an Emu card would I get software 5.1 sound in games or just stereo?

It wouldn't be a problem losing some framerate in exchange for good audio quality.

So am I right thinking that the better soundcards just don't have hardware acceleration and would I lose sound quality by using software mode if possible?

Also if this is true what other manufacturers can you recommend?

you need direct sound basiclly (for any serious gaming), which these pro soundcard don't do.

What do you think about the M-AUDIO Delta 410? It supports Direct Audio in Hardware!

You'll be better off using two cards =P Only creative offers full EAX support after all.

You do realize that 0404 and a lot of professional cards don't have 5.1 output?

I have a quick question, how does the the 0404 do on output to grado's? I have an audigy 2zs and was thinking of getting an 0404.
