Open headphones are not exactly like speakers. There's not that much sound leakage that those around you can hear the detail of everything. But you will be able to hear your environment around you.

DT 990 Pro + ASUS Xonar DG or DGX. Here in the U.S. that would be $165 + $40 = $205. The 990 has a wide soundstage and lots of bass. Its 250 ohm but the DG/DGX can easily drive it on the mid or high gain setting.

No, voice activation will still work. It always works fine for me when I game with open cans. Plus, open cans almost always have wider, more open soundstages which is good for gaming. I recommend the DT990 Pro and Xonar DG/DGX, as I explained above. If you're used to a gaming headset you'll be blown away by the sound quality and the 990s will be great for your bassy music. I use a Zalman clip-on mic so I can use whichever headphones I want to for that gaming session. Typically when you buy a headset with an attached mic you get less sound quality for the money. Its better to just get some great sounding headphones and add a clip-on or boom mic. You can get the Zalman for $10 on Amazon:

I should clarify, I do have voice activation issues from time to time but its hard to tell if its the headphones or just my room which can be loud especially when the AC is running. I use push-to-talk and the slight bit of sound bleeding from my open cans is never an issue unless your mic is particularly sensitive in which case you should probably use push-to-talk instead.

the DT990 is 220$ and the sound card is 50$. 220$ + 50$ = 270$ but i am unsure if that card is even gonna be good enough for me wanting to upgrade. i mean i rather wanna go for Creative Sound Blaster ZX even thought it's 140$. 220$ + 140$ = 360$

I'm almost 100% sure you'd be really happy with that setup. :) Coming from a gaming headset you'll be amazed at the sound quality of the 990s and they should work quite well for gaming too.

Yeah that's what I meant-- I think you'd be really happy with the DT990 and Sound Blaster ZX. The Xonar DG/DGX would work really well too but its up to you. Both would probably be a *huge* step up from what you're used to.

i decidede to go with some Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro's, and the Creative Zx soundcard for the volume control (im gonna miss that if i dont get it)
so yeah thanks for all your guys help :)

I advise you go all out and get the creative ZxR instead so you don't need to upgrade later.

Are you sure? Open back headphones are preferable unless you really need isolation or there will be people very close to you that are bothered by the noise. Its not as loud as most people think, when they haven't had experience with open cans yet.
 
If you do want closed look into the Audio Technica A900 and Beyerdynamic 770. They both have pretty wide soundstages for closed cans which is somewhat hard to find. The 770s will probably have more bass.
