Hello all,

I was wondering if it is possible to use a dac/amp without having a delay.
When I use my WM1A as a USB DAC it has like a 5-second delay. I wonder if tabletop stuff would have delay too.
Are audio interfaces viable too?

5-second delay.
WOW!! Thats crazy lag!

I game on a PS4, only because I cant seem to find a PS5, but I digress...
My system goes PS4>Astro Mixamp>Schiit Magni 2>AKG K701 or Fidelio X1.

If there is any lag/delay I dont notice it. I bi-amp the Astro w/ the Schiit because the Astro doesnt haveenough juice for K701 by itself. I leave the Astro in line because it decodes into 7.1, which then passes through the Magni and finally into my headphones.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I'm using a Gustard U16 digital interface in front of a Topping D90 DAC in to a Topping A90 amp running from my PC and there is zero noticable delay. Similarly, all my other stuff (PS4, set top boxes, TV, etc) are run through the TV (LG C9 OLED) to the D90's SPDIF input. Zero noticable delay.

Clearly the DAC function on your Sony is an afterthought / only intended for music, because a 5 second delay on any wired interface is comically bad... So bad that I've never heard of such a thing.

5 seconds is crazy. I’ve seen people bitch about a couple hundred milliseconds before but 5 seconds is just very wrong.

I really can't wait for consoles to start using it. Yes, the games are kicking in. But I play online casino games, and for me, this one is interactive. If you want to try your hand at a casino, you can sign up for.

The Walkman have an delay of roughly -350ms.

You can adjust that in video and music players, but obviously not in games. As the manual of the Walkman clearly states, the DAC mode can only be used for music and nothing else.
