First off I'm in Australia, so places of purchase are eBay, Amazon.com, jaben.com.au

Is a review of the hippo box, which is $69 at Jaben.com.au

What do yous think? Currently I'm using an iPod Touch (yes, I know) I was thinking about getting a FiiO Line out Dock, and then hooking it up to the Box+ or the GoVibe

Any suggestions?

If you use a Line-out dock, you won't be able to use the Box+ since it has no volume control and you'd blow your ears off. So if you're going to get a line out dock, I would go with the Martini. I only have the Box+ so I can't help much with comparisons.

I Have heard both so I can tell you, The Hippo box is a more "fun" amp, providing bass boost, and the basic functions of an amp. However, I would call the Martini, a more "serious" overall amp. It doesnt have bass boost, but it does have hi-low gain.

It also has a really good soundstage I found hard to match in anything in its price range.

If you're interested In using a line out dock, the martini would have to be your choice as the Hippo doesnt have a volume button, as mentioned earlier.

What about the well known FiiO E7?

Dealextreme.com has them for $84, which looks promising, and also I know I can get 'em here in Australia.

Win?
