Thanks TD, that has killed my curiosity, I think I would like everything about them except for the closed soundstage.

Might have to give the TFTA 1XB a try though.

Don't let me put u off, especially at $100 or so, if they are still at that price, I would go for it.
You will notice the SS being closed in though - and yes before I get told, I have tried different tips. (well all the ones provided + different sizes)
Most people, who have owned the MG7's agree that they sound pretty closed in - even 2 people on this thread, 9around 10-30pages back) sold them on or returned them, as they preferred their MTPC's

MTPG's for example, have a wider sound stage, but can't compete with the bass and intricacy of the mids on the MG7's
MTPG's sounded OK, but preferred my TFTA's to them - bass QUALITY on the MTPG's has a lot to be admired. It is not rolled off, but doesn't provide that nice extension of the MG7's nor the bass pounding bass of the TFTA 1XB's.

If people want, they can try my TFTA's by loaning them off me, I don't mind. PM me if you are really interested...

I just wish the MG7's had the SS of the TFTA's, and it would have been near perfection.

I got the HF5 and the Atrio (MG7) for a little less than $100 each, and I'd say the Atrio wins, overall.

Sound-wise, they are near equals: the Atrio has better bass and energy, and a fuller sound, while the HF5 has better extension and more detail, especially during fast/busy passages. The HF5 also boasts a longer warranty (two years versus one) and, with the Shure black foam "olive" tips, better isolation (the Ety tri-flanges are way too small for me).

Yet the Atrio still wins thanks to better fit (more secure, more comfortable) and much lower microphonics. And even though its warranty isn't as long, it'll probably last longer, thanks to its angled jack (when my past IEMs finally failed, like the HF5, it was usually at the jack).

I also compare the Atrio to the HF5 and Kozee X1 in the last paragraph of this post.

Good combo with the ZO2 then (what version do you own if I may ask?)?

I need great iems for the deep dubstep I mainly listen to and these sound like the ticket.  I have a ZO2.3 already, so Im looking for something that pairs well with that amp

Anyone have the custom fit sleeves for the atrios?  I just saw them while looking for pictures of the MG7 in someones ears.  They look quite nice, and at 150, part of me says it would be worth it to have a custom fit IEM that sounds perfect for what I need it for.  I cant afford actual custom iems (not decent ones anyway) and my ear canal is pretty small/odd so I was thinking about going this route but am unsure.

I find these damn near perfect for the drum and bass I listen to. The bass is beautiful and the highs are crisp but not ear-piercing like my TF10. I don't have an amp; however, I'd imagine Atrio with the ZO would be phenomenal for dubstep.

Ok, been doing some serious A/B'ing with the TFTA 1XB's and the MG7's

Got to say, the king of bass is still the TFTA 1XB's, there is no competition for its mid-bass presence. Seriously. It's crazy strong.
Just to give u an idea:

On the ZO2, when I got 5-6 click up from 0 its the same mid bass as the TFTA 1XB's

-> In terms of mid-bass:
TFTA 1XB no exceptions

-> Sub-Bass:
MG7's, TFTA 1XB's come close, but not as deep and extending as the MG7's

-> Mids:
Hands down MG7's
The TFTA 1XB's mid bass bleeds into the mids, not that it doesn't exist, its just overshadowed by the bass
The MG7's, as it focuses on sub bass more, it doesn't have any problems reproducing the mids

-> Highs:
Both are similar - the MG7's has more emphasis on it, and sounds a little more accurate with trance especially, but apart from that they are both similar.
If I had to pick, the MG7's would take it by a tiny margin.

Overall:
If you want bass, EQ/ZO2/Amp the Mg7's
If you don't want as much bass, then you are fine.
If you are really craving bass, TFTA 1XB's

(I updated my ratings on the TFTA's on all my reviews)

For anyone that might be thinking of sending theirs back for a refund, in Canada:

BEWARE! It's been 20 days and counting, and I have yet to receive a refund cheque. Being dicked around by someone at the company who hasn't responded in a week after telling me he'd look into why my cheque hasn't arrived.

TERRIBLE customer service.

Refund cheque ? Why can't they refund your money via credit card or paypal ? Are you dealing with atrio.me or futuresonics in the states ? I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but i have had a great experience in purchasing from atrio.me, i live in toronto, and apparently their location and where my phones was sent from is in hamilton, which is not far from me. I just hope your case gets resolved quickly as i am surprised at the level of service or lack of that you had to endure thus far ............... refund cheque, that's the first time i heard that one, geez .............

Maybe try giving Eric a call if you haven't already. When I emailed him for an RMA# and didn't get a response for a while, I gave him a call and he sent me the RMA# with instructions right away. I have noticed with many companies again and again that a simple phone call is more often than not a better way to get someone to take care of things.

Eric is the person I have been dealing with. He finally replied this evening after I sent a slightly irate email. His explanation was that they weren't sure who's name to put on the cheque because my sister purchased them with her credit card and had them shipped to me. Meanwhile, I already told him to put it in her name back on the 3rd. So he says the cheque has been mailed now, but he was waiting to find out when I should expect it before he would send a reply back. I don't see why that would take a week to do.

I have no idea why they're sending a cheque either. Definitely not very professional to not refund directly onto the credit card.
