I was going to say, you can't wirelessly transmit electricity, but this emits a magnetic field. Like my electric toothbrush in fact.

Which also means it'd be quite limited in range, sitting on the device.

Yes probably. although probably interfere with more. It could do harm to analogue watches and most things that work with magnets; headphones.
