Usually "fun" and "reference" headphones are contrasted. Maybe the high-end is so serious phenomenon that is capable to deliver only intellectual feast but not common pleasure.

Do you think that there're high-end fun headphones?

Edit: Do you see any discrepancy between high-end and fun?

Very nice...I do really like both as "fun" reference cans. I would also add the RS1/HF2 to the mix.

While I agree that the T1s are very fun to listen too, I understand fun as "coloured" and I find that the T1s are fairly neutral/balanced (although on the slightly warm side of neutral). But the Ed 8 and PS1000s are both very coloured and certainly very nice "fun" headphones.

Although I do still prefer the RS1/HF2 to the PS1000.

I was keeping this for later on.

Why anyone had never mentioned k701/2 as fun headphones?
I enjoy mine very much.

Fun and reference are a little contradicting based on my particular interpretations of the words, but fun and high-end can go together quite well!

As several have mentioned, the Grados are usually noted as fun and I find the HE-5 (not necessarily high-end) to be quite fun sounding.

After my brief listening to the K701s, I wouldn't describe them as fun.
