Hi Guys,

First off I'm not amazingly knowledgeable about headphones and the different qualities so I came on here for help. (Be nice :)

I'm looking for a good pair of headphones for the commute to work plus busy periods of work. They must not leak that much noise as they will disturb other people. (So closed back)

I currently own a pair of Sennheiser RS 180 which are awesome for walking around the house but not very practical for a commute as they connect with a base. I am looking for a wired set.

I like the RS 180 shape and size as they cover my ears and feel pretty soft for long music sessions.

I listen to all typres of music from heavy metal to pop to dance music so a good all rounder headphones would be good.

I am planning on connection them with HTC One X phone which comes with Beats inbuilt sound enhancer (I know bad) but I could do with a good portable Dac? I have seen the Fiio ones and the Graham Slee one? Can you help me find the best enhancer?

My budget for the headphones is maximum £250 (maybe abit more) plus Dac cost!

Thanks for all your help,

I will look forward to your replies.

Your HTC One should be enough. Have a look at the Audio Technica M50, good value for money if you don't mind something that is a little bass heavy.

I'll take a shot.
Ohms is resistance, the higher the Ohms the more resistance, but the higher the resistance the better control over the signal sent to the diaphragm in the headphone (I do not know why).
The higher the resistance, the more voltage you need to overcome the resistance.

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm, nice and bassy headphone.
