Hi Guys,

Anybody know in the UK who can replace a bent headphone jack on a pair of Denon AH-D1100 headphones. These are for a friend of mine who has already asked a few companies (Som Tech Electronics, Sound System Technology), but they are asking silly prices (£40 - £50) just to replace a jack plug!!!

He's not gonna be able to do the job himself, so any leads or help would be much appreciated...:)

Well the jack it self could cost around $5-10  then there's the labor, which might run you $20 or so, then the shipping which is going to be around $10. So that's what $40 right there, granted it's alot but the prices are normal. Replacing a jack isn't hard, but it's takes some applied understanding, and some time, they would need to strip the cable back and either sodder a new one onto it, then they have to neatly reapply the cable sheilding onto the jack, which again isn't hard but it takes a little time. And, you can actually re wire a SE jack wrong, so if some one half hazardly rushes through it, your buddy might wind up with Mono on his stero headphone... so there is some cost to it sadly

Now that said, you COULD try Asking Frank of Toxic Cables, since he is also in the UK, he might be cheaper but he is UBER busy so you might have to wait a while q.q

now back to cost, big manufactors most like buy cables in bulk, a thousand or so at a time most likely machine assembled, or made with cheap labor, which is why you cna buy a headphone for like $30 with a 4 foot cord, when you ask a single person or company to do it, it's not nearly as cheap due to the labor involved, adn that fact that a small buisness, isn't paying the price for bulk
