He's currently looking at K81DJ, but the disadvantage is the supposed vice grip, the ES7, which might not have enough bass or the Beyer DT770, which is 80 dollars more than the other two.

He's coming from Super.fi 5EB, and would like a bass similar to it.
He's looking for a warm/deep sound but with decent highs. Basically a more balanced SF5EB.

I think he'll get the DT770 if he finds that it's worth the price difference from the other two.

the dt770 is comfortable, rugged, bassy, and most likely similar to the superfi 5EB your friend has... the ES7 does not even come close in bass (from what i read around here)
