I've decided to venture into the world of closed headphones and am interseted in the ATH-ESW9. I have a friend who is currently in Kyoto and she'll be in Tokyo next week. Does anyone know if it would be cheaper to buy them there and have her bring them back to me or should I just buy them from Beach Camera?

It is unlikely after paying exchange rate, retail AND tax in Japan that your friend can beat that price.
