This is a first for the internet. 24-bit/96kHz remastered tape-generated files available for downloading. This music is a MUST download. Some of these tracks are famous performances that are highly sought after. If you have an Off-Ramp Turbo or Turbo2, Off-Ramp I2S or a Transporter, you can play these native 24-bit/96kHz files. They are encoded in FLAC.

The first samples (exerpts) being offered for download are FREE at this URL:

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the heads-up! Downloading at 240KBps... It's going to take a while

It never occurred to me how huge FLAC files really are until I had to download one

WOW! My M-Audio USB Audiophile via JRiver Media open it first time with a Lavry DA10 lock at 96 kHz...

Something else entirely....

AudioEngr ...this is not good for my wallet...I am going to have to purchase some of this music now.

Are the CDs high res or only the DVDs?

yeah I'm sure they sound great. I've downloaded a few 24/96 and 24/192 vinyl rips at a site I'm not allowed to talk about. They sound amazing.

The SQ is amazing, good music choice too.

Am I the only one with hiss on track 2? (Daphnis et Chloe)

Nope you're not the only one. I'm getting hiss on all four but Daphnis et Chloe hisses like mad

Maybe it is my hearing but I am not hearing any hiss on mine...

My first thought was to blame foobar/X-fi (resampling disabled everywhere, no additional DSPs in foobar) but it must be a byproduct of tape transfer. On D&C it is pretty noticeable, but on the others hiss is subdued. Strangely enough, even on D&C is does not distract from the music that badly.

The downloads are hi-res and I believe the DVD's are hi-res. You should email them.

That's my favorite of all of them. It's a 1961 famous performance of the Boston Symphony I believe, not 1954 like I thought. Still old though, pre-Dolby or DBX noise reduction.

1954? That explains everything

These are all remastered from performances of the late 50's and early 60's. No Dolby noise reduction on these tapes.
